The coral reefs are completely lifeless, but it's a great spot for beginners to feed the fish.
The corals in the shallow parts of the reef appear to be in a deteriorated condition, likely due to visitors stepping on them. However, the corals in the deeper waters beneath the jetty have a healthy appearance. Additionally, there is a fascinating shipwreck located on the opposite side of the reef.
The beach is clean and the water is clear, making it a safe place for kids to swim. It only takes 30 minutes to reach the beach from the Merang Jetty by speed boat. However, there isn't much to see while snorkeling as colorful coral and vibrant fish are hard to come by. It is advisable to bring your own food as there is only one shop that sells chips, instant noodles, and soft drinks. We went on a 1-day tour, and this marine park was our first stop. The next stop, Redang Lagoon, is even better than the beach at the marine park.
This beach is quite popular among tourists. Remember to bring bread to feed the fish. They offer underwater camera rentals here. The majority of the corals and fish can be found near the jetty, as the corals closer to the beach have unfortunately died. Don't miss out on the stunning view of the islands and their crystal-clear azure water.
It is a great spot for people who are not comfortable with snorkeling but still want the opportunity to feed fish from a close distance.
