Ikgeum Beach is located on the Sea of Japan (part of Pacific ocean) and it is in the 16th place out of 24 beaches in the South Jeolla region 81.1 km away from its center, the city of Jindo-eup. It is one of the beaches of Eojeon-ri settlement, just 1.1 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains.

It is a spacious coastline with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is not crowded place during the season. Please note that the area nearby is possible for wild camping.

Ikgeum Beach coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature. .

This beach is a great choice for families during the pandemic. The golden sand is perfect for building sandcastles and the waves are amazing for surfing and fishing. Additionally, you can find sentinel crabs nearby which are well-known for marinated crabs in the South province. My son enjoys catching and eating sea urchin, acorn barnacles, and top shell. Unfortunately, I did notice some litter on the beach. If there were recycling tools installed, I could have easily gathered and disposed of it properly. Nonetheless, I will do my best to clean up what I can today.
