On days when the waves are high, the symphony of pebbles crashing against each other creates a mesmerizing auditory experience. However, it is important to keep in mind that the beach can be quite steep and disorganized, so caution is advised.
The abundance of pebbles on the beach may leave one wondering, but amidst the not-so-pretty stones, there are some truly picturesque ones. Nevertheless, the stunning view of the sea makes up for any lack in aesthetic appeal of the pebbles.
The beach was a sight to behold with its vast expanse of pristine beauty, dotted with numerous Mongdols of varying sizes. The natural wonder of Gamtasa added an air of mystery to the already enchanting scenery. However, my experience was dampened by the abundance of summer food waste, leaving me in a less than favorable mood. It is clear that the institution responsible for the beach's management needs to take urgent action to address this issue.
Good
Ah, the good old Mongdong Beach. 35 years ago, it was the epitome of a sleepless traveler's paradise. The bright moon illuminated the waves crashing against the stones and dongles. But alas, time has not been kind to this once expansive beach. It now stands on a steep cliff, as if clinging on for dear life. The wide Mongdol Madang seems to have disappeared into thin air, leaving only a faint memory of its former glory. If you're looking to relive the past, follow the road on the right from Nok-dong until you reach Ocheon Mongdol Beach. From there, take the east road and make your way back to Nok-dong. Although the view of the blue waves flowing down the east road is still a sight to behold, it's a far cry from what it was 35 years ago. But fear not, for the memories of that time still linger, like the day I looked out of the bus window and saw this beach for the first time.
