I had a really terrible experience at the beach. The portion of mixed fried food, which was meant for one person, cost €5.00, which I found to be quite outrageous. I decided to order a salmon pizza for €14.00, but unfortunately, the salmon on it was only a faint smell. My wife ordered a mushroom pizza for €8.00 and specifically asked if the mushrooms were fresh, but they turned out to be nothing more than canned mushrooms. Additionally, the lack of tablecloth holders made it quite inconvenient to dine as we had to hold the tablecloths with one hand while eating with the other. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially considering the €2.00 cover charge per person.
I have to admit that I've been coming to this beach for years, but this will be my last visit. We were a group of four people, and the staff insisted that we rent two umbrellas. However, we only wanted one umbrella and three sunbeds. Why should I be forced to pay for things I don't want to use? So, unfortunately, it's time to say goodbye. The management here is pretty terrible. It's a typical example of Messina's desire to make money off of me, which I'd rather avoid.
My friend and I, along with two children, decided to visit the lido at around 5:30 pm. To our surprise, they charged us €13 for an umbrella and two sunbeds. Later, when our wives joined us at 6 pm, we were informed that we needed to get an additional umbrella since more than four people were not allowed to stay together (although the children remained on the shore). As a result, two of us decided to move to the nearby free beach. Consequently, for the remainder of our vacation, we opted to spend our time at the nearby beach where the staff was extremely friendly.
The beach is very well-maintained and has plenty of space. The services provided are excellent, and we had a great dining experience. If you ever visit Messina, I highly recommend checking it out!
The sea is absolutely amazing, offering a breathtaking view all the way from Sicily to Calabria.
