The beach is absolutely lovely, with its soft and shimmering golden sand.
During my visit to the beach in September, I had the pleasure of experiencing a bustling atmosphere without feeling overwhelmed by the crowds. The water appeared to be free of any debris such as plastic or algae, although the color was not particularly appealing and visibility was limited when swimming.
The beach on Ischia is truly exceptional. Although Ischia is primarily made up of rock, the beachfront is a delightful exception. It's true that a large portion of the beach is commercialized and requires a fee of 50€ per person for a chair, but the remaining 20% is open to the public and is still quite enjoyable, despite being a bit crowded. Overall, while Ischia may not be the top choice for a beach vacation, the stunning beachfront is definitely worth a visit.
This beach is a serene and picturesque haven, perfect for those seeking a quieter escape from the hustle and bustle of other popular beaches like Chitara and Chiaia. To get here, I hopped on the Line 1 bus from South Forio to San Montana, which was a scenic 20-minute ride that only cost €1.50. It's worth noting that the bus can get quite crowded, so it's best to give yourself ample time to get there. As some have mentioned, there is both a paid and free section of the beach. I opted to save some money and found a cozy spot under the shaded wall on the far left from the entrance. However, there are only a limited number of these spots available (around 20-30), so it's best to arrive early if you want to snag one. The shade does expand throughout the day as the sun moves, so even if you can't find a spot in the shade initially, you may be able to later on. One thing to keep in mind is that there aren't any small shops selling personal umbrellas or parasols like you might find at Chitara or Chiaia, so come prepared if you want to bring your own. Lastly, there's a fantastic canteen and snack bar with plenty of hot food options to keep you fueled up for a day of relaxation and fun in the sun. Overall, this beach is a must-visit for anyone looking for a tranquil and serene beach experience.
The beach is absolutely stunning with a plethora of convenient amenities and affordable sandwiches. The sand is incredibly fine and the water is crystal clear and pure. The only downside is the expectedly large number of people present.
