Although we didn't sample the cuisine, I must say that the margarita I had was delightful, and the drink selection was impressive. The sunset view from the beach was breathtaking, and the gentle sound of the waves lapping against the shore was soothing. For a mere 10 Euros (during the month of October), you can rent a comfortable sun chair to relax on during the day. The servers were extremely friendly and accommodating, making me feel as though I had escaped the hustle and bustle of everyday life and was instead lounging on a sandy beach in a quaint Mexican fishing village.
I was mesmerized by the charm of this petite beach, which outshone the main beach at Positano. Our hotel had arranged for us to reserve sunbeds and umbrellas at one of the beachside restaurants. Despite the steep price of 100 euros for four sunbeds and two umbrellas in August, it was definitely worth it to bask in the scorching sun. To reach the beach, there are two options - one involves a strenuous walk with numerous steps, while the other is a boat ride offered by one of the restaurants. The latter also provides the same sunbeds and umbrellas, and ferries you to and fro from Positano at frequent intervals.
Embarking on a brief stroll from the bustling port of Positano, you'll discover a serene haven known as the beach. Unlike its crowded counterpart, this hidden gem offers a tranquil escape. For a mere 40 euros, two sunbeds and an umbrella await you, or opt for the first row for a mere 50 euros. However, be sure to bring suitable footwear as the rocky terrain can be challenging. While the water may not be crystal clear, the peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking views more than make up for it.
The beach may seem like a great place to unwind, but be warned, it's not for the faint of heart. The seemingly endless stairs leading down to the beach will leave you gasping for air and questioning your decision to come. And if the stairs aren't enough to deter you, the treacherous rocks and pebbles will surely do the trick. You'll need to plan your trip with military precision to avoid getting stuck on this unforgiving terrain. And even if you do make it down, the small connecting bridge to the neighboring beach is a rickety and nerve-wracking experience. The beach may have a relaxed vibe, but the journey to get there is anything but.
The beauty of Positano and its charming scenery is the main attraction for tourists. However, the beach itself may not be as appealing as it appears on postcards. The shore is covered in grey rocks, and the sea is uncomfortably chilly with a rocky seabed. To make matters worse, the ascent up the stairs can be a daunting task. Despite these shortcomings, visitors can still enjoy a sunbed for €20 per person.
