Pahia Ammos beach is located on the Mediterranean Sea and it is in the 7th place out of 478 beaches in the Crete region 179.5 km away from its center, the city of Kastelli. It is one of the beaches of Paleochora settlement, just 0.3 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area with very picturesque views, among the mountains. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a spacious coastline with crystal turquoise water and brown fine sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, families with children, seniors, pet owners etc. It is partially crowded during the high season. Moreover, this beach is popular with naturists.

Despite the fact that a significant part of the beach is occupied by resorts, there is still a fairly large area with free access. The beach facilities are only available to visitors of resort area. With just under 30 euros, you can lounge under the shade of the large umbrellas all day long, which was perfect for me as I wanted to avoid getting sunburned. The watermelon they serve is massive and incredibly tasty. The water is refreshing and teeming with lovely fish in the rocky areas. Additionally, there is a spot where you can rent water sports equipment and paddleboards. This place is certainly worth every penny and a must-see destination.

The beach was a pleasant expanse with a serene ambiance. Although we visited in April when the temperature was not particularly high, it still provided an excellent spot to unwind and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. We spent an hour dipping our toes in the water and soaking up the soothing atmosphere.

I absolutely adored this beach! Although it can get a little breezy at times, the ocean is absolutely breathtaking. The water is crystal clear and an incredible shade of emerald green. Unlike many other beaches, you don't have to trek a long way to get to the deep water. Additionally, it's not very crowded during this time of year, which makes it even more charming. ♥️

For a mere 6 euros per day, you can bask in the sun on a comfortable sunbed sheltered by a handy umbrella. While occasionally windy, the beach boasts a superbly gradual slope into the sea, making it easy to take a refreshing dip. The sandy expanse stretches out for quite a distance and is generally well maintained, with only a few bits of litter scattered about the seafloor. The transparent waters sparkle with clarity, revealing a few fish swimming about.
