In my honest opinion, this beach in Crete surpasses all others. It can be accessed via a boat ride from Sfacia town or a longer trek on foot. It is advisable to wear suitable footwear if you opt for the latter. Rest assured, a small bar/restaurant is available for your convenience once you arrive.
The beach is an incredible destination to explore, with a particularly noteworthy path leading from Loutro to Glyka Nera. While the taverna is acceptable, it doesn't stand out as anything exceptional. For a more tranquil experience, be sure to venture to the other beach situated behind the quaint chapel.
This stunning beach boasts crystal clear waters and a quaint eatery for light bites and drinks. It's also a renowned destination for those who prefer to bask in the sun in their birthday suit, so don't be surprised to encounter plenty of bare bodies.
On our visit to the beach on September 21st, we were pleasantly surprised by the abundance of activities and attractions available. The snorkelling experience was exceptional, offering a glimpse into the stunning underwater world that lies beneath the surface. The taverna served delicious food, and the boat trip or walk provided a delightful way to explore the area. It's worth noting that tickets for the boat can only be purchased from the service located at Hora Skafion harbour, the smaller business. As a top tip, bringing along some bread to feed the fish proved to be a highlight of our trip. The fish were particularly fond of the bread, and we were even able to attract a curious Dolphin fish, which I was fortunate enough to capture on my gopro. Overall, our experience at this beach was truly unforgettable.
This beach is indeed a sight to behold, with its stunning beauty and crystal-clear water. However, don't be fooled by its appearance, as the water can be a bit chilly. We arrived by boat, which set us back a whopping 8 euros, and were greeted by a restaurant and umbrellas for rent at a mere 6 euros. The view from the top of the beach is undeniably breathtaking, but let's be real, it's just another tourist trap.
