This hotel and spa resort is absolutely amazing. We were so reluctant to leave this extraordinary place. Our room had a breathtaking view of the sea, and we enjoyed the stunning sunset from our balcony and the hotel restaurant. As someone with a nut allergy, the staff was always available to provide me with guidance, and all the food was clearly labeled. Normally, we don't revisit the same hotel, but we will definitely be returning next year. I just have one small complaint - a 5-star hotel should ideally have more comfortable single sun loungers. A big thank you to all the fantastic staff members.
We went on a girls' vacation for a week at this resort. The resort boasts a small mini market and three different restaurants. The main restaurant's kitchen is open every day, while the other restaurants only operate once or twice a week. The rooms are compact, but they were perfect for a week-long stay for two people, and everything was kept clean. The service provided was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast offered a decent variety of choices and catered to everyone's preferences. As for dinner at the main restaurant, it was satisfactory. The buffet is available throughout the week, but unfortunately, some fish or meat dishes were overcooked or dry due to excessive cooking time. There are two pools available, although the pool chairs tend to get occupied quickly. Hence, it is necessary to wake up early in order to secure a spot by the pool. The beach is conveniently located just across the street, and hotel guests are provided with complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas. The beach itself is well-maintained, and the sea is absolutely stunning.
I had an amazing time during my stay at the beach. I couldn't find anything to complain about as the atmosphere was very relaxed, the service was good, and the food was great. The rooms were nice, and to our surprise, ours even had a semi-private swimming pool that we shared with two other rooms. Although the beach may not be the most beautiful one in Crete, the views, especially during sunset, were breathtaking. Overall, I would rate my experience a perfect 10 out of 10!
This hotel is not a five-star establishment. Despite its beautiful outdoor areas and stunning views, it can be considered more of a three or four-star resort at best. The reception staff is impolite, unhelpful, and judgmental, as I have personally witnessed their behavior towards both myself and other guests. However, I must mention that the breakfast staff and cleaners are extremely kind and friendly. It seems that the reception team could benefit from some training in hotel etiquette, with the exception of one member. My partner and I stayed here for a romantic getaway of seven nights, but unfortunately, it was far from romantic. The hotel has new guests arriving daily, resulting in overbooked restaurants and a lack of available sunbeds, despite the hotel's rule against reserving them. The outdoor areas are indeed beautiful and picturesque, but the rooms are outdated and far from modern, which may explain the limited online images. The hotel's location is great for beach access, as guests are guaranteed sunbeds. There are also two lovely restaurants nearby with great food. However, apart from that, the area is quiet and lacks attractions. Due to the hotel's busyness, there are often queues for breakfast and a lack of organization during the buffet, creating a slightly chaotic experience. On the positive side, the hotel is very clean, including the rooms, spa, and pool. The food on the buffet board is average, nothing exceptional, but the poolside food served as you order is delightful, as are the staff working in that area. Considering the price, there are definitely better facilities available, so we will not be returning.
We visited this quaint village 8 years ago and made a promise to come back and stay at The Island because it looked absolutely stunning every time we walked by at night. And we were definitely not let down! The hotel is beautifully designed with multiple pools, bars, restaurants, and a spa. The food we had was really good, even though we only opted for bed and breakfast since we were aware of the great local restaurants nearby. The staff is exceptional, incredibly friendly, and always ready to assist, especially Sophia and Christina who manage The Veranda bar during the day. These two ladies were absolutely fantastic, always taking the time to warmly welcome us and engage in conversation whenever they saw us. Sophia had a great sense of humor, while Christina was incredibly talkative and shared some amazing stories. If you're seeking a place full of excitement and activity, this may not be the right fit for you. However, if you're looking for a relaxing vacation with excellent amenities, a beautiful beach, and a friendly staff, I highly recommend checking it out and making a reservation!
