West Side beach is located on the Thrace Sea (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 110th place out of 185 beaches in the Thrace region 28.6 km away from its center, the city of Komotini. It is one of the beaches of Fanari settlement, just 1.1 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area.

It is a long lasting coastline with crystal turquoise water and white fine sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, families with children, seniors etc. It is partially crowded during the high season. There is a campsite located nearby.

The beach is great, with soft sand and not too many people. There's a nice bar where you can rent sunbeds with a small table and umbrella if you purchase drinks or food. The prices are very reasonable. It's a narrow stretch of land between the sea and lake, and there's a car park and lake just across the road. There aren't any natural shades like trees, but it's a classic sandy beach with beautifully clean water.

The beach is amazing, with its soft sand, convenient parking, and pristine waters. When we went in mid-June, it wasn't crowded at all, which definitely added to the experience. The view of Thasos Island, especially during sunset, is absolutely stunning.
