Vela Draga is located on the Adriatic Sea (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 242th place out of 315 beaches in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar region 90.8 km away from its center, the city of Rijeka. It is one of the beaches of Veli Losinj settlement, just 1.9 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place, among the mountains. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a small bay with crystal turquoise water and light pebble, so it is recommended to wear special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, hikers etc. It is almost deserted place even during the high season.

This charming beach may be petite in size, but it boasts breathtakingly clear waters that are simply divine. With a cozy sandy shore and a quaint dock to lounge on, you'll feel like you've discovered your own private oasis. The peaceful atmosphere is enhanced by the fact that you'll likely only encounter a handful of fellow beach-goers. The journey down to the beach is a breeze, taking a mere 20 minutes, and while the return hike may be slightly more challenging, it's certainly worth the effort. The terrain is not overly difficult, making this delightful beach accessible to all.

This beach is truly beautiful, however, our experience here was marred by an unwelcome encounter with a rather unpleasant individual. While hiking along the coastal trail, we decided to take a refreshing dip in the ocean. Despite leaving no trace of our presence on the beach and being nowhere near his property, a man claiming to own the house overlooking the beach demanded that we leave. His behavior was quite unsettling and left a sour taste in our mouths. It's hard to say whether this is a common occurrence or if we simply had the misfortune of crossing paths with this individual, but it's worth being cautious.

This serene and untamed shoreline is a hidden gem, but unfortunately, it's not easily reached by car. A leisurely stroll of 25-30 minutes is required to reach this picturesque spot.

The strenuous trek to this beach may not be worth the effort. Lošinj boasts numerous other stunning beaches that are more accessible. I would advise against visiting this particular beach. Contrary to previous claims, there is no sand to be found and the presence of wasps and other pests can make it challenging to unwind.
