While the water may not be of the best quality, I appreciate the scenic view and the fact that it's not overly crowded. There are plenty of shaded areas to set up a tent or simply relax, although the number of changing rooms is limited. However, the shower areas make up for this shortfall.

If you're in the mood for a beach day, Po Toi Island is a great spot to check out. Just a quick ferry ride from Aberdeen, this little island has a lot to offer. And don't worry, your furry friend can come along for the ride for a small fee. When it comes to food, there are some huts selling snacks and drinks, but they're only open on weekends. For a proper meal, head to Ming Kee seafood restaurant. Their set meals and a la carte options are delicious and won't break the bank. Just make sure to book in advance if you're planning on going during the week. If you're looking for souvenirs, the island is famous for its dried seaweed and tea leaves. And if you're up for a hike, the trail is well-defined and easy to walk on. Just be prepared for some steep rocky slopes and bring a hat and sunscreen since there isn't much shade.
