Out of all the beaches on St. John, this one was definitely our top pick. Despite the walk down, it's worth it because it's usually less crowded than the others. Plus, the views are absolutely stunning. It's the ideal spot to spend the entire day in peaceful relaxation.
The beach is absolutely stunning! It's only accessible through a gated community, but the effort is well worth it. Unfortunately, the tire swing is no longer present and one of the palm trees was destroyed during a hurricane, which is quite sad. However, it's a serene beach that's off the beaten path. If you're a fan of secluded locations, like myself, then you should definitely pay a visit!
The beach is absolutely gorgeous, but it's located on the west side of the peninsula, contrary to what Google maps suggests. It would be helpful if the map was updated.
The location of Oppenheimer Beach on Google Maps is inaccurate, but it is still a wonderful beach.
One of my top picks for beaches in St. John and the Virgin Islands is Oppenheimer Beach. It's a private beach managed by the National Park and boasts lovely amenities, such as bathrooms and showers. It's also a great spot for taking pictures. The short hike down the hill is enjoyable, with a jungle-like atmosphere, and the beach itself is truly paradise.
