While snorkeling at the beach, I was thrilled to encounter a turtle swimming right before me. The underwater world was teeming with a variety of fish, and the vibrant colors of the coral reefs were simply breathtaking. It's important to keep a safe distance from the turtles and refrain from touching them to ensure their wellbeing.
The beach is pristine and not overly crowded, making it an ideal spot for families with children. However, the tranquility of the surroundings is occasionally interrupted by the sound of loud music emanating from nearby hotels.
At Fort DeRussy, we enjoyed a stunning sunset that perfectly set the tone for the day. The unobstructed view was simply breathtaking, allowing us to fully appreciate the beauty of the moment. As the golden hour approached, the atmosphere was peaceful and serene. The beach park itself was well-maintained and had a pleasant grassy area.
A serene and immaculate shoreline, perfect for a family getaway or a peaceful solo retreat. I tend to steer clear of the benches, as they tend to attract an abundance of weed snorkelers. However, the wash stations are consistently well-kept and ample for the number of visitors. My favorite moments at this beach are before dawn and at sunset, when the sky is painted with a spectrum of colors. The beach is also a haven for turtles, providing endless entertainment and admiration from the comfort of the sandy shore.
If you find Waikiki beach too congested, take a stroll down the street and discover Fort DeRussy beach. It offers ample space and a diverse range of water activities available at the hotel activity stands. Additionally, the area boasts several restaurants and a trendy food truck. Be mindful of the rocky terrain and wear waterproof shoes. For a fun adventure, try snorkeling and catch a glimpse of the vibrant marine life, including small fish and even tuna. Venture further out and you may even spot a majestic sea turtle.
