The beach is a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy the company of your furry friend. As you approach the end of the beach, it's the perfect place to let your pup off the leash for a bit of freedom. I've never encountered any issues with authorities or patrols, and there are plenty of other dogs enjoying the off-leash experience as well.
Summerland's beach has always been one of my top picks. The vast expanse of sandy shore and the breathtaking sunsets never fail to amaze me.
What a delightful discovery! Our intention was to witness the sunset, and we were fortunate to stumble upon this peaceful location. The absence of crowds made it all the more serene, and the early evening was simply stunning. To our amazement, we were able to witness both the sunset and moonrise simultaneously, a rare occurrence indeed. Notably, this beach is conveniently located near downtown Carpinteria. We enjoyed the experience so much that we returned the following day, at the same time, and indulged in a delightful picnic.
The abundance of rocks proved to be a hindrance to our beach experience. The boat launch area, which we intended to use for kayaking, was fraught with danger as the water was peppered with large, sharp rocks. Even on the shoreline, digging just a few inches down revealed a dark, ashy soil littered with fist-sized rocks. The presence of these rocks certainly detracted from what was once a wonderful expanse of beach.
The beach was easily accessible and there were no issues with it. However, in comparison to other beaches, the sand area was not particularly large. As a result, it was quite crowded on the day we visited. Despite this, it was still an enjoyable experience and we rented boogie boards from a friendly lady who had a small shop on the beach. One thing to note is that there was a significant amount of kelp in the water, more than I have ever seen before. We saw some girls struggling to remove a large amount of it from the water. Nevertheless, the kids had a fantastic time.
