This beach is truly a gem. The convenience of available parking is a plus, although it is limited. The beach itself is easily accessible, even for those in wheelchairs, with a designated viewing area. The sunset view is simply breathtaking and adds to the overall beauty of the beach.
This stunning and cozy beach, facing south, is perfect for unwinding and soaking up the sun. You can choose to lounge on the soft sand or perch on the smooth rocks. I have visited this beach on numerous occasions and it has never been overcrowded, allowing for a peaceful and tranquil experience.
Despite the posted warning, many visitors choose to spend the night at this beach. The street is filled with people who have parked their cars and RVs to make it their temporary home. The beach is always bustling with activity, with cars constantly speeding by or coming to a halt. Although there are bathroom facilities available, they are Port a John's and were not well-maintained when I visited. You can see the condition of the facilities in the pictures.
The beach is adorned with a plethora of rocks, making it unsuitable for families or those seeking to bask in the sun unless they are content with sitting on the rocky terrain. However, if you have a penchant for exploring the rocky terrain and discovering sea creatures, this beach is perfect for you. It is an ideal destination for adventurous souls seeking to immerse themselves in the natural wonders of the sea.
The beach offers a brightly lit street at night, but parking can be a challenge on weekends. The Magnolia tree is a stunning sight, and with a few more plants like bamboo and succulents, the area could be transformed into a beautiful garden. Access to the sand is available via stairs or other paths. The ocean waves are perfect for beginner surfers and add to the pleasant crashing sounds. The beach has sections of sand and rocks, making it a great spot for barefoot walks or rock playtime. It's important to be kind to the few homeless people and other visitors on the street. While there are porta potties, they may not be the cleanest. However, the lack of a lifeguard stationed in the tower and some people blasting music and smoking can be a downside. Additionally, enforcing the No Parking 10PM-5AM signs can be hit or miss, and the constant traffic noise can be disruptive. Bikers use the parking lane, so be careful when opening car doors. Though litter can sometimes be an issue, the beach is generally clean.
