The beach was absolutely stunning. Finding convenient parking was a breeze, the water was pristine, and we had the fortune of avoiding any jellyfish encounters. My husband had a successful fishing trip, reeling in numerous trout and catfish. I, on the other hand, enjoyed a refreshing swim and had a blast playing in the waves. Our excitement peaked when we spotted an octopus and a multitude of sea turtles. We are frequent visitors to this beach, and it has never disappointed us.
We had an amazing time at this beach. The only downside was that the restrooms and shower house weren't well-maintained during our stay, but luckily we had our camper to clean up when necessary. They also had Portera potties available on the beach, along with some picnic benches. The price was reasonable too. Surprisingly, the beach staff were really friendly, not what you would expect from typical police officers. We will definitely come back again.
I had an amazing time at the beach, and the kids had a blast building sand castles. The weather was pleasant, the water was warm, and the kids discovered countless crabs. The atmosphere was great! It was incredibly convenient to be able to park on the beach and set up our tent. I would recommend arriving early, especially on Saturdays, as it tends to fill up quickly around 11:00.
I really enjoy visiting the Texas State Parks because they do a great job of maintaining cleanliness and ensuring that the sand is compacted. Thanks to this, we were able to bring our small car onto the beach. It's also a plus that the beaches are less crowded since they don't allow anyone in once they reach capacity. Although we encountered some tar on the beach, it's understandable considering the presence of oil rigs in the Gulf. Despite a minor inconvenience caused by one lady, I would definitely choose to visit again. 🤷♀️
Mustang State Park is a fantastic destination to catch the sunrise. However, if you plan on visiting during the day, it's important to arrive early as tickets cost five dollars per adult and the park has a limit on the number of cars and people allowed. Fortunately, we arrived in the morning and managed to secure our tickets, but when we returned later, they were already sold out by around 3 PM. The sand on this part of the beach is noticeably whiter and cleaner compared to the rest of the shoreline. Additionally, there is a wonderful area near the Rocky pier where you can fish or search for seashells and hermit crabs. We highly recommend visiting this spot as it is the most beautiful beach we discovered in Corpus Christi! One great feature of this beach is that you can drive your car right onto it and park close to the water. While there are no washing facilities on the beach itself, there are porta potties in the parking lot. However, if you need to wash up or use a restroom, there is an area further beyond the parking lot.
