During the quieter months, it is important to note that dogs who are not designated as service animals are not permitted on the beach.
The beach offers a sizable water area and ample space for visitors to spread out and enjoy the sun. However, the beach pass system can be a bit of a challenge to navigate, with non-residents being charged $40 and $50 on weekends. On the upside, we discovered that parking further away from the attendants later in the day meant we weren't charged for beach access. One thing to note is that the beach is situated adjacent to an Amtrak train and bridge, which can occasionally disrupt the peaceful atmosphere.
This serene and intimate beach boasts a charming boardwalk and designated areas for swimming, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a peaceful seaside retreat.
The tranquility and serenity of this beach are unparalleled, particularly during the magical moments of sunrise and sunset.
Niantic Bay Beach, located at the end of the boardwalk, is a spacious and expansive beach that surpasses its counterpart, Hole in the Wall Beach. My children particularly enjoy this beach due to the ability to spread out and relax. During the beach season, a lifeguard is present for added safety. Volleyball nets are also available, and the beach is less restrictive than Hole in the Wall. A beach pass is required during the summer months, but the primary activities are swimming and sunbathing. For those who are interested, a walk along the boardwalk is a great option.
