Strolling along the beachfront is an activity that I thoroughly enjoy. The serene atmosphere and immaculate surroundings make it a truly picturesque destination. However, during the summer months, this tranquil haven tends to be bustling with visitors.
Clean beach with life guards."
The coastal region of New Jersey has a rich history, dating back to the time of the Lenape tribes. These Native Americans were the first inhabitants of the area, and they established permanent settlements on the mainland while building seasonal homes along the coast. During the summer months, the Lenape would engage in various activities such as hunting waterfowl and shorebirds, fishing, crabbing, collecting shells for wampum production, gathering eggs, and trapping turtles and muskrats. However, the Lenape settlements were eventually removed from New Jersey in 1758. Despite this, the legacy of the Lenape people lives on, and their connection to the land and sea is still felt today.
Adored it! The picturesque Seaside Heights, a charming island beach, captured my heart.
The beach is a pristine and immaculate destination, with a tranquil atmosphere that is perfect for relaxation. While it is possible to drive onto the beach, a permit is required and a four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended to navigate the sandy terrain.
