The beach was incredibly beautiful and had an abundance of lovely shells. However, the water at this particular spot was quite cloudy, which made me hesitant to swim there since I prefer being able to see through it. It took us a total of 3 hours and 40 minutes to hike there, including regular stops and breaks for water to rest. If I were to camp at that beach, I would definitely opt for a boat to drop me off. Haha.
I had a pleasant hike on a dry day with no mosquitoes. The trail can be quite exhausting due to its narrowness and the vegetation that brushes against your feet and legs. However, the views along the trail are absolutely stunning. It's important to bring an ample amount of water, even more than you initially anticipate.
The beach is absolutely stunning and definitely worth the effort to paddle from Flamingo. Make sure to consult various weather sources. We double-checked with the park ranger and multiple weather apps, all of which indicated 3 to 6 mph winds for our kayak journey back from the clubhouse. However, it turned out to be 20 mph winds with 2ft waves, making the return paddle quite challenging. The conditions in the area can be a bit unpredictable, but the experience is truly worthwhile.
Clubhouse Beach is definitely worth the 7.5-mile hike to reach a pristine beach where clothing is optional. In the evening, you can start a large campfire and gaze up at the countless stars. The trail is relatively easy until the end, where you will encounter some water that can make walking a bit slippery. It's crucial to be aware that towards the end of the trail, you will need to wade through a shallow pool with thick mud. I recommend taking off your shoes, wearing shorts, and being careful not to slip. Apart from this, the trail is in good condition. One more important thing to note is that it's advisable to wear long pants and bring bug repellent.
The beach is quite secluded as not many people opt for the long hike to get there. During my brief stay, I did witness three boats passing by. Although the beach lacks shade, it is well-maintained and I didn't notice much litter. As mentioned by others, there appears to be a patch of deep mud just before reaching the beach. February seems like an ideal time to visit as the mud was mostly dry and there were absolutely no mosquitoes!
