The stroll along the cliff at Hill Head is truly enchanting, with breathtaking views that will leave you in awe. The scenery is simply stunning, and the walk itself is an absolute delight. It's reassuring to see that the open areas have been cordoned off for safety, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the surroundings without any worries.
The beach is an ideal location for those who enjoy coastal walks. There is always a buzz of activity with various water sports such as sailing, swimming, board surfing, and kayaking available. The stunning views across to the Isle of Wight are truly breathtaking. Although the beach is mostly stony and the tide goes out quite far, the water remains shallow and safe for all to enjoy.
This beach is an amazing destination that my family and I thoroughly enjoyed. We spent our time fishing and cockling, and even my 6-year-old daughter was able to catch an eel. We decided to camp out overnight in our motorhome and it was a wonderful experience. Additionally, there is a bird sanctuary located right across from the beach that we absolutely loved. Overall, this beach is a fantastic location that offers a variety of activities for all ages to enjoy.
As a child, I have fond memories of playing on this beach and now I enjoy taking my nieces and nephews here. It's a pity that the pub on the hill top has disappeared. The water is shallow and the beach is a bit stoney. However, there are two small parks for children to enjoy - one at the Hill Head end and another at the Lee on Solent end. This beach is very popular and finding a parking spot can be a total nightmare. If you're looking for a nearby pub, the Osborne View is a great spot for lunch.
This beach is a must-visit destination throughout the year, renowned for its popularity among wind surfers, kite surfers, paddle surfers, and sea kayakers. It's also an excellent spot to watch boats sail by, and it's situated across from the Titchfield Haven Nature Reserve. The shoreline is mostly pebbled to protect against erosion, and during high tide, a promenade walk leads you along the shore towards the harbor, dry dock, and local sailing club. You'll find a delightful cafe on-site, serving delicious snack meals, and the staff is lovely. Additionally, there's a shop selling items related to the Nature reserve. Currently, access to the beach is limited due to maintenance projects underway on the path and sea/shore defence. However, it's an excellent location for bird watching, and you can utilize the bird watching huts for a small fee if you prefer not to spend time on the beach. Be aware that parking is limited along cliff road, and the beach can get quite crowded. Finally, there are two low tides to keep in mind.
