Kanilcak Koyu is located on the Black Sea and it is in the 15th place out of 35 beaches in the Kocaeli region 41.9 km away from its center, the city of Kocaeli. It is one of the beaches of Bollu settlement, just 3 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place, among the mountains.

It is a small bay with crystal turquoise water and light sand & pebble cover, so it is recommended to wear special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is not crowded place during the season. Please note that the area nearby is possible for wild camping.

The cove is small, tidy, and charming. Unfortunately, there are no restroom facilities, showers, or cabins available. Additionally, the spring water here is cold and has a high mineral content. Hopefully, the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality will eventually address these issues and improve this location.

While passing by with our caravan, we thoroughly enjoyed our three-day stay at the beach. It was incredibly pleasant, except for the quiet Sunday night when only the dogs and ourselves remained. Although there were no facilities like toilets, showers, or lifeguards, the sea was stunningly beautiful and clean, allowing us to swim without any waves. The markets were conveniently located just a five-minute drive away, and there was also a nearby source of spring water. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with our experience and have marked it as a place we can confidently recommend to our friends and family.

I stayed at the beach for two nights, and in the evenings, it was quite peaceful with hardly anyone around. Occasionally, we would have a fox or coyote visit us, but they would simply walk along the coastline, so it wasn't a problem. The beach has a narrow area suitable for children, but it quickly gets deeper. The main thing to note is that there are no lifeguards, showers, or toilets, although it is conveniently located near a public beach. It's enjoyable to have a samovar in the evenings and spend time chatting over tea until 3:00 in the morning.

The beach is perfect for a day trip, but it's not safe to camp there overnight on weekdays. Once everyone leaves, all the dogs from nearby gather together and it becomes impossible to leave the tent. The best plan is to go on Friday evening and return on Sunday. And don't forget to bring an umbrella because there is no shade.

The water is calm and there are no floating platforms to restrict your enjoyment.
