Chao Lao Beach is located on the Gulf of Thailand (part of South China Sea) and it is in the 1th place out of 7 beaches in the Chanthaburi region 20.4 km away from its center, the city of Chanthaburi. It is one of the beaches of Bang Kachai settlement, just 7.4 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a long lasting coastline with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

Chao Lao Beach coast is free for all. This beach has the following amenities, beach restaurant, toilets. There is also possible to take different water activities such as catamarans or jet skis.

This Chanthaburi beach is a wonderful spot for both swimming and indulging in delectable cuisine at the numerous seaside cafes. It's best to plan your visit on a weekday as the weekends tend to get crowded with boats and jet skis in the water, and the cafes are bustling with activity. While the waters are safe for swimming during this season, it's important to heed the warning signs and red flags indicating no swimming. At the southern end of the beach lies the Chao Lao pier, where you can take a leisurely stroll and admire the colorful boats while observing the fishermen sorting their catch, which is often crabs instead of fish.

Our humble abode has been nestled on this beautiful beach for countless years. As I jot down these words, the Monsoon season is slowly coming to a close, a time of trial and tribulation for all of us amidst the ever-changing climate across the globe. We've had our fair share of rainfall, but it's time to move on from the news of Covid and make your way to our shores. It's been over three years since we've welcomed travelers from afar, and we can't wait to show you the wonders of our beach. I'll be sure to share some stunning photos with you later on, but for now, let me tell you that November is when the weather truly starts to improve. So pack your bags and come enjoy the serenity of our little slice of paradise.

The beach was a complete disappointment. Despite the presence of several restaurants along the road, the lack of parking spaces made it impossible for me to find a spot to park my car. It appears that the restaurants have taken up most of the available parking spaces, leaving visitors stranded. I was even warned not to park my car, which made me feel uneasy about leaving it unattended. In the end, I had to sneak around just to take a few photos of the beach. Overall, I would not recommend this beach to anyone looking for a peaceful and hassle-free experience.
