Son Khip Beach is located on the Gulf of Thailand (part of South China Sea) and it is in the 39th place out of 39 beaches in the Rayong region 19.3 km away from its center, the city of Rayong. It is one of the beaches of Phala settlement, just 6.2 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a long lasting coastline with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

There is a significant amount of litter on the beach, and it seems that there is no one responsible for maintaining it. It is evident that the local budget has been reduced as the beach is in a worse state than before. It is disappointing to see the area so deserted. In response, my friends and I decided to lend a hand and clean up the trash.

I visited the beach on April 14, 2012 and was disappointed to see a lot of litter scattered around, indicating a lack of proper maintenance. Additionally, the wind was quite chilly and I noticed a number of individuals sleeping in the hammocks. However, there were food vendors selling grilled squid and papaya salad, and there was a free restroom available, although only one female toilet was accessible.

This beach is incredibly serene with plenty of natural shade provided by the trees. It's the perfect spot for grilling and enjoying a meal. During the day, it can get quite crowded, but at night it's a different story. If you want to see what it looks like after dark, I can share a photo with you. Just remember to keep it clean since this small beach doesn't get cleaned very often.
