This beach in Ilha Grande is truly unique. It embodies what the village of Abraão was like two decades ago - peaceful, tranquil, and stunning, with fewer tourists. Despite this, it offers comfortable accommodations, pousadas, bars, and restaurants that can rival those in Ipanema Beach. If you choose to stay here, the afternoons and evenings are perfect for unwinding, relaxing, and taking a dip in the calm waters. Even on weekends, it remains a serene and soothing escape. The only drawback is the lack of transportation from here to Abraão. While you can explore the island on day trips, visiting Abraão for the day would require taking a boat back to Angra dos Reis and then catching the regular boat to the town. I believe the local authorities should consider establishing a boat link between these places. However, don't let this discourage you. Staying here is truly one of the best options on the island, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Ilha Grande offers another beautiful bay that serves as a great alternative for those who want to stay in Araçatiba instead of the crowded and noisy Abraão. Other bays are too far away and isolated. Araçatiba has a variety of accommodation options and the sea is calmer compared to beaches closer to Abraão, like Lopes Mendes and Dois Rios, which tend to have rougher waters. Araçatiba is also renowned for its excellent diving spots and its proximity to the breathtaking natural cave of Acaiá, which is truly indescribable. It's a must-see. Araçatiba is the starting point for numerous scenic walking trails, with the longest one leading to the bay of Bananal, where you can find several beaches along the way. This trail covers a total distance of 32 kilometers and, although not too challenging, it can get hot and requires some walking skills in the rainforest. The views throughout the trail are breathtaking and you'll encounter unforgettable waterfalls and diverse flora and fauna. I highly recommend visiting this place.

Isla Grande boasts a well-liked, compact beach with crystal-clear and tranquil waters. Additionally, there is a bar available that offers refreshing beverages like beer and Caipiriña. However, it is worth noting that the beach may become quite crowded as the sandy area is not particularly spacious.
