It is one of the beaches of Guaeca settlement, just 6.3 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a straight coastline with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. I went to the beach in September and absolutely enjoyed it. The sand on this beach is made from Magnetite Stone, which not only has medicinal properties for pain relief but is also stunningly dark. However, the ocean waves are quite strong here, and unlike the neighboring beach, Curral, there are no public restrooms available.

Praia do Veloso, located at the southern tip of the island, is a quaint little beach boasting around 200 meters of monazitic sand, giving it a slightly darker hue. This tranquil beach is perfect for families with young children and offers excellent opportunities for snorkeling, thanks to the vibrant marine life thriving amidst the rocks scattered along the shoreline. Additionally, there is a convenient stall where visitors can purchase refreshing drinks and snacks. Regrettably, due to the area's recent development, the presence of numerous boats in the water has led to occasional water pollution, making it less pristine than before. Furthermore, on weekends, the beach tends to be more crowded, so it may not offer the same level of tranquility as during weekdays.
