Praia Guanxuma is located on the South Atlantic Ocean (part of Atlantic ocean) and it is in the 165th place out of 228 beaches in the São Paulo region 145 km away from its center, the city of San Paolo. It is one of the beaches of Castelhanos settlement, just 5.4 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place, among the mountains, surrounded by the cliffs. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a small bay with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, hikers etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

Beach with a small strip of sand and some fishermen's houses. It's just for curiosity's sake. It is preferable to go straight to Praia do Eustáquio, very close by. Years ago, it was possible to get to this beach from Castelhanos via a trail close to the coast, but due to little use, it closed and almost no longer exists.

Small beach with access only from the sea or trail! On the day we went we found only one resident on the Paraíba beach! He reported that only during the season do some other inhabitants appear on the beach, the rest of the year it is practically isolated from civilization!
