Catende Beach is located on the South Atlantic Ocean (part of Atlantic ocean) and it is in the 156th place out of 187 beaches in the Bahia region 159.3 km away from its center, the city of Salvador. It is one of the beaches of Itacare settlement, just 5.8 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place, surrounded by the cliffs. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a straight coastline with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is almost deserted place even during the high season.

Catende Beach coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature. .

Getting to the beach is quite simple: just take a short walk along the trail. Parking is located at some distance, within 300 meters.

Exploring this beach during low tide is an absolute must. The beach boasts of natural pools that are filled with pristine, crystal clear water. However, reaching the beach requires traversing the BA-001 - Vila Marambaia road towards Jeribucaçu beach and following the trail. The hike can be challenging for children and seniors, but it's an experience that's worth every effort. To avoid getting lost, it's best to hire a local guide. Make sure to carry ample water and food but remember to leave nothing behind on the beach.

The beach was nothing special. The sand was dirty and the water was murky. There were too many people and not enough space to relax. I would not recommend this beach to anyone. The beach failed to impress me. The sand was unclean and the water was cloudy. The overcrowded beach left no room for peaceful unwinding. This beach is not worth recommending to anyone.

This spot is a true gem. The oceanic pools are simply breathtaking, unlike any other I've laid eyes on. It's almost as if you're taking a dip in a giant fish tank.
