Galheta Beach is located on the South Atlantic Ocean (part of Atlantic ocean) and it is in the 19th place out of 238 beaches in the Santa Catarina region 12.3 km away from its center, the city of Florianopolis. It is one of the beaches of Fortaleza da Barra settlement, just 1 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place, surrounded by the cliffs.

It is a long lasting coastline with crystal turquoise water and pure bright fine sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, hikers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

Galheta Beach coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature. .

Please note, that this shore has a significant low tide.

In addition to swimming and sunbathing, you can also take part in other activities. There are also some surf spots.

To get to the beach, you need to walk along a mountain trail about 500m long. Parking is located at some distance, within 300 meters.

A stunning oasis where you can bask in the glory of Mother Nature and find inner peace. Sure, it's technically a nude beach, but don't let that scare you off. Only a handful of people were actually in the buff when we visited. Personally, I found it a bit awkward to keep my clothes on while others were letting it all hang out. It's a classic case of "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em." As for family-friendliness, well, let's just say there are other nudist spots that might be more up your alley.

I had the privilege of exploring Praia da Galheta, the solitary nude beach in Florianpolis, Brazil, and it was an incredibly liberating experience. The sheer vastness of the beach is awe-inspiring, and the pristine waters are absolutely breathtaking. Although reaching the beach requires a bit of effort, including a hike, the journey is definitely worth it. Occasionally, you may even come across vendors selling beer. While this is an incredible experience, it is important to exercise caution. The locals have warned me about some unsavory individuals who have been known to frequent the beach, so it is best to visit with a group or sit close to other groups. If you're seeking an unforgettable adventure, Praia da Galheta should be at the top of your list. With its magnificent views, thrilling waters, and an indescribable sense of liberation, it is an experience that will remain with you forever.
