Orinon Beach is located on the Biscay bay (part of North Atlantic Ocean) and it is in the 27th place out of 49 beaches in the Cantabria region 39.9 km away from its center, the city of Santander. It is one of the beaches of Sonabia settlement, just 1.1 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area with very picturesque views, among the mountains.

It is a spacious bay with crystal blue water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season. There is a campsite located nearby.

This beach is a great spot for swimming and surfing, with plenty of people taking advantage of the calm and clean waters. It's easy to access and there's free parking for caravans, as well as beach guards monitoring the area for safety. Plus, it's conveniently located close to the city center with plenty of hotels and residential buildings nearby.

I had the pleasure of staying here for a few days in 2019 in a van. It was a great place to stay - very quiet, apart from the market on Sundays. The beach was lovely and the locals were friendly. Plus, the beach had basic amenities, so no need to worry about that.

I really enjoy this beach. It's usually not too busy and the waves aren't too strong. The only downside is the abundance of beach lice - they seem to have multiplied over the past year and they can be quite annoying as they jump on you and bite you.
