The top beach in La Palma boasts black sand and impressive waves, with the added bonus of a pleasant path leading to it.
On Sunday the 21st, we headed to this beach only to discover that it was closed due to construction. The road leading up to the Mirador was also closed off. However, we still walked up to the Mirador and were treated to a stunning view of the beach. Despite being informed that the beach was closed, we saw some people parked and walking down to the beach, which seemed quite far away. From the Mirador, we could see people lounging on the beach below, giving the impression that it had been closed for a while.
This beach is a surfer's paradise with easy access, but it's not recommended for swimming. The location is absolutely worth it and shouldn't be missed.
This is our go-to beach and definitely worth a visit! The powerful waves give you a true sense of the ocean's strength. It's a large, untamed space, but there are showers and a lifeguard on duty during the summer months. The sun shines almost all day until 6pm in the summer, but in the winter, the beach is shaded by 1pm. The water is warm due to the sun-heated rocks, making it absolutely perfect.
