What a shame! I went to this chiringuito expecting a healthy, refreshing watermelon drink, but instead I got a sugar-laden concoction. Even after I asked for it without sugar, they still added it. And for what? €4. What a ripoff!
A lovely boardwalk, some great restaurants and some just okay. Newer buildings than Malvarossa. Big. The sand isn't the softest and the water isn't always the clearest (seaweed or dirt after rain). Quiet in the winter, bustling in the summer. Am I complaining? Not at all, it's still a wonderful spot.
If you're looking for a great place to kite or surf, Valencia is the spot! The wind is usually good from September to June, and it's not too crowded during this time. There's plenty of parking nearby, so if you're driving, you won't have any trouble. El Perellonet is my preferred spot, but Playa Patacona is a lot closer. The waves are great and the water isn't too deep, making it a perfect spot for kiteboarding.
That place is blessed with a wide sandy shore, and a few beach bars that open in the summertime. Unfortunately, there is a smelly sewage pipe at the end of the beach, so it's best to stay away from that area. Also, the bike lane doesn't go all the way to the beach, so it's usually less busy than La Malvarrosa.
This location is an absolute gem, just a short bike ride away from the city centre of Valencia. The route there is fascinating, with small pockets of agricultural land dotted along the way. It's the perfect place to spend the day, soaking up the sun and taking in the stunning views.
