I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this beach, as I had no prior knowledge of its location. Thanks to the assistance of Google, I was able to find my way here with ease.
A picturesque shoreline, once renowned for its beauty, now appears to be abandoned. The parking area and surroundings are in a state of disrepair, much like the neighboring Quigney. It is advisable to visit the more well-maintained beaches such as Bonza Bay, or even better, Gonubie/Gqunube.
This particular seaside spot, unfortunately, has earned the nickname Trash Beach due to the overwhelming amount of litter and refuse scattered throughout the area. It's truly disheartening to witness such a blatant disregard for the environment and the beauty of nature. The abundance of discarded alcohol bottles only adds to the unsightly scene. I cannot in good conscience recommend this beach to anyone seeking a peaceful and clean retreat. The fact that it has received positive reviews is truly perplexing to me.
This East London beach is undoubtedly among the finest ones out there. It's perfect for spending quality time with your loved ones, as it boasts breathtaking vistas from the hilltop, which is adorned with a wooden walkway.
The beach experience was quite disheartening. It was a Monday morning at 10am and the sight of vehicles parked in the lot with people openly drinking alcohol was quite unpleasant. The requirement to wear shoes was understandable, but the broken beer bottles scattered all around were a cause for concern. The absence of any Metro police or SAPS added to the disappointment. It was a pity to witness such a stunning beach in such a deteriorated state.
