If you happen to be traveling with alcohol, it may not be worth making a stop at this particular beach. The officials at the entrance inspect vehicles and may prohibit you from entering with your beverage.

The beach itself is simply breathtaking, offering visitors an unforgettable experience. This location is absolutely stunning. The breathtaking views make it the perfect spot for capturing memorable photos. The sand is incredibly soft, but the water can be quite chilly. For day visitors, there is no fee to enter. There are a handful of covered picnic areas, some of which even have tables and chairs. In case the shaded areas are taken, it's advisable to bring along a gazebo, tent, or umbrella. There are vast grassy areas and numerous play parks for children to enjoy. It's best to arrive early for parking, as there aren't many spaces available. Traffic wardens were issuing tickets to those who had parked illegally on the day we visited. The beach boasts a tidal pool and a lengthy stretch of white sand that meets the turquoise ocean, providing ample opportunity for swimming, walking, or simply lounging. The area is kept immaculately clean and has multiple public restrooms available. If you plan to be there early or late, it's recommended that you bring your own toilet paper, as it is only restocked around 10am and may run out later in the day. Additionally, some of the soap dispensers were empty, so it's advisable to bring hand sanitizer or soap. There are plenty of braai facilities available for everyone who wants to enjoy a barbecue. There are a few chalets and camping spots, both with and without electricity, that can be hired at a minimal cost. All in all, this place is a true jewel of Cape Town.
The beaches are undoubtedly clean and picturesque, but the pool is nothing to write home about. There's enough room to stretch out and enjoy the sun, but the trek down to the beach is a daunting climb down a multitude of stairs. The parking situation is passable, but nothing to rave about. Day visitors are turned away at the gates at the ungodly hour of 6pm, and security is a constant presence at the main entrance. While the entrance itself is free, the cafe inside is nothing to write home about.
