Anse Major Beach is located on the Indian ocean and it is in the 18th place out of 111 beaches in the Seychelles region 7.4 km away from its center, the city of Victoria. It is one of the beaches of Bel Ombre settlement, just 3 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place, among the mountains, surrounded by the cliffs. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a small bay with crystal turquoise water and pure bright fine sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, hikers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

Although it may not be the most picturesque beach on Mahé, it is undoubtedly the finest due to the refreshing river that flows into it. Moreover, it is accessible to the public free of charge. Although the hike to reach it is strenuous, the effort is worthwhile, and the scenery is awe-inspiring.

A leisurely stroll from Danzil's last bus stop, bus 21, leads to a well-marked path offering breathtaking vistas of the ocean. The beach, which we discovered upon arriving, was a sight to behold, complete with a sea turtle basking in the sun.
