Kawatiri Beach is located on the Tasman Sea and it is in the 17th place out of 17 beaches in the West Coast region The beach is located in a natural place.

It is a long lasting coastline with turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, pet owners etc. It is not crowded place during the season. There is a campsite located nearby.

Kawatiri Beach coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature, changing rooms, showers, toilets. .

Please note, that this shore has a significant low tide.

In addition to swimming and sunbathing, you can also take part in other activities.

This beach is easily accessible, it is located very close to road. Parking is located directly on the beach.

The beach reserve is a loverly beach to walk, but don't overlook the bush walk/cycle tracks sandwiched between the freedom and nzmca camps. The loop walk is a slow meandering walk through planted bush mostly flat and easy to walk or cycle. It can connect to the river track for a longer walk or cycle. The short track is an easy way to town and a nice ride. Highly recommended.

It's a very welcoming place . Enough parking for 25 motorhomes , beach right there. Rubbish bin available, toilets on site shared with the NZMCA park across the road . DOG friendly . Very quiet apart from the wekas.

A great place for a swim and family fun day. We stayed overnight on a self-contained vehicle. It was nice.
