A Breathtaking Beach situated just a short distance from Whangamata. It's a Magnificent Beach with White Sand and a very Picturesque Coastline on both sides of the Beach. Well-liked for Surfing, Fishing, Snorkeling, and Swimming. It's advisable to only swim within a safe distance and between the designated flags. The Lagoon is an excellent spot for Families to enjoy a swim. There are two alternative walks on either side of the Beach (Waimama Bay Reserve Walk is located on the Northern Side, starting from the Northern Car Park and leading to Waimama Bay/Beach and Papakura Beach. Otonga Point Walk is on the Right Side, starting from the End of Kontiki Rd and leading to The Sea Caves and Blowhole. Best explored at low tide to venture inside, as during high tide the Water flows in. Exercise caution if it has been raining or the ground is wet. Definitely worth a visit.
Fantastic shoreline with soft ivory sand, adore the inlet on the northern edge of the beach.
Whiritoa is a stunning seaside destination that offers the perfect setting for unwinding and rejuvenating.
Whiritoa Beach is a slice of heaven for residents, boasting a pristine Lagoon at the Northern tip of TOA. The Whiritoa Surf Life Saving Club is situated in the heart of the beach, with a blowhole at the Southern edge. Additionally, there is a charming local Shop/Cafe offering takeaways. I have been visiting this beach since childhood, and it remains my ultimate paradise destination. 🏖️😀
It was incredible! We found a spot in a lovely park where we could set up our fishing rods and drone. The park had everything we needed - shelter, restrooms, a water trough for Sas the dog, a playground for my grandson, and even though the BBQ wasn't working, we brought our own food. The availability of running water was a pleasant surprise, and we managed to catch 5 fish, releasing 2 back into the sea. It was a fantastic day filled with conversations with locals and sharing fish tales. We are definitely planning to return. Despite getting a little sunburned, my legs are still pale! I highly recommend Whiritoa to everyone looking for the perfect day out.
