The beach is best enjoyed during high tide and offers good shelter from winds coming from any direction except the north. It's not ideal for swimming during low tide as you'll need to walk a bit to reach deeper water. The free council BBQ makes it a great spot for a barbecue.

This beach in the bustling Orakei area is a convenient spot to visit, easily accessible by both road and public transport. It can get quite crowded on holidays, but it's a perfect place for a day trip with a picnic and exploring the surrounding area.

This beach is pretty basic, with a few barbeques and benches that make it a good spot for parties. The toilets could use some updating. One side of the beach is bordered by lovely trees, and across the road is a park with games and activities for kids. Groups often gather here to party, and cricket games are a common sight.
