Pohutukawa Bay Beach is located on the South Pacific Ocean and it is in the 77th place out of 86 beaches in the Auckland region The beach is located in a natural place with very picturesque views, surrounded by the cliffs. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

I visited the beach on Boxing Day and there were only three people there. The views were beautiful and the water was clear. It was a pleasant 30-minute walk from the car park.

The beach experience can vary depending on the time you visit. During low tide and sunny days, this beach is popular among nude bathers and offers a pleasant atmosphere with shade from the trees. However, during high tide, there may be no beach available and recent tides have washed away a lot of the sand, leaving behind a rocky terrain. During low tide, it is easy to walk along the coast, although some rocks may be slippery. On the other hand, during high tide, you will need to take the coastal track, which is a hilly 30-minute walk.
