It had been 15 years since I last visited Cooper's Beach, and I was amazed to find that it still looked as beautiful as ever! The tide was in, and the water remained shallow for quite some time. It's truly a hidden gem.
Our picnic at the picturesque Coopers beach was spoiled when we discovered some fairly recent dog feces beneath our blanket. Not only did it cut our picnic short, we had to endure the smell on our way back.
This beach is pet-friendly (on-leash, depending on the season and time of day). There is plenty of room to spread out and the water is beautiful, though the waves can be quite strong at times.
This beach in New Zealand is the best of the best - surrounded by stunning, old Pohutukawa trees. The best part is that it's never too crowded.
This beach is great, with lovely sand and not many shells. It's just a short stroll from the parking lot, which has a restroom and changing room (unfortunately, there's no water to wash up).
