We had heard that this campsite was located away from the busy atmosphere of Ponta, and indeed, it was situated on a stunning beach. However, we were assigned a campsite at the opposite end of the dive center since our purpose of visit did not involve diving. The campsite we received was positioned next to some abandoned rondavels, nestled under magnificent trees that had a captivating beauty. Nonetheless, it seemed that the fallen leaves had not been cleared for quite some time, resulting in a damp and neglected ambiance. The restroom facilities were clean, but they were in desperate need of modernization. Overall, there was a prevailing sense of neglect, which was quite disheartening considering the potential of this place to be a remarkable camping spot if they put effort into tidying up and demolishing the old unused structures. Additionally, it is worth noting that the only means of access to this location is via a 4x4 vehicle.
The beach is absolutely fantastic for diving! Manuel, Amor, and Courtney made our experience truly incredible. Amor also provides exceptional cultural experience days, which were the highlight of our trip. Be sure to inquire about it or ask others for her contact information! Manuel is the most exceptional dive instructor I have ever encountered. He is honest, composed, and an overall amazing person! Courtney exudes energy and positivity. She offers the opportunity to dive with dolphins! Witnessing her natural and genuine interaction with these magnificent creatures was truly a delight.
One of the top destinations in Ponda do Ouro, this place is a must-visit for private events and parties. It's a fantastic spot to chill with friends and family, offering a range of affordable rooms, from small to big sizes. They even have a convenient shared bathroom facility. Additionally, they have a campsite for those who enjoy camping. Moreover, they provide dive training and offer diving opportunities on-site. Overall, it's an incredibly serene and stunning location.
The management lacks a focus on safety, as evidenced by their response when clients inquire about the weather forecast - instead of providing helpful information, they suggest praying to a higher power. Furthermore, when one of our friends sustained an injury on the boat, no one bothered to check if she was alright or offer any first aid assistance. The overall atmosphere is very unwelcoming, and it's disheartening to see that the current state of affairs at this beach is worse than ever. We used to enjoy diving here, but now we witness unsafe practices and a complete lack of care. We reported these concerns to the owner, but unfortunately, there has been no response or action taken.
The beachfront bar is absolutely breathtaking. While enjoying the view, we were lucky enough to spot a group of dolphins from the shore. We discovered that they offer ocean safaris, so we made the decision to reserve a spot with them. Our experience with the dolphins was truly extraordinary! Courtney, our guide, shared a wealth of fascinating information with us, leaving us feeling incredibly thankful and our hearts brimming with joy.
