Playa de Chachalacas is located on the Gulf of Mexico (part of North Atlantic Ocean) and it is in the 13th place out of 66 beaches in the Veracruz region The beach is located in an urban area.

It is a long lasting coastline with turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. The beach was decent, although there are superior beaches elsewhere. There are numerous restaurants lining the beach, eagerly inviting you to stop by. You have the option to secure a table with chairs for 100 pesos, or you can enjoy it for free if you spend at least 200 pesos at that particular restaurant. The beach is not particularly expansive, and there is a considerable number of vendors. Nonetheless, we managed to have a pleasant time.

Definitely a popular tourist destination for the locals. The prices were quite steep, but the beach itself was stunning. It was evident that certain areas had sewer pipes leading into the ocean.
