Playa Holbox is located on the Gulf of Mexico (part of North Atlantic Ocean) and it is in the 33th place out of 98 beaches in the Quintana Roo region The beach is located in an urban area.

It is a long lasting coastline with turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, families with children, seniors etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

Playa Holbox coast is free for all. This beach has the following amenities, loungers and umbrellas, beach restaurant, toilets. During the season this beach line is supervised by a lifeguard.

In general, the beach is just okay. It tends to be quite crowded and the water is murky. Although the sand is decent, there are many clam shells scattered around, so it's best to wear footwear.

This beach is clean, bustling, and offers stunning sunsets. Despite the crowds of both locals and tourists, there are some impressive sights to see. I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of litter and seaweed. If you venture away from the bright lights, the night sky is a breathtaking sight with countless stars.
