My husband and I went to Veligandu for our honeymoon in May. There is so much to say about this place, but I'll try to keep it short. It truly is a little paradise with amazing staff, great food, and even though the place was fully booked, we didn't encounter many other people. The room and view are unbeatable, and the staff will make you feel special. I'm thrilled that we had the opportunity to go there before it closes for refurbishment, and I would love to return someday. After speaking to other guests who have traveled all around the Maldives, it's no surprise that Veligandu is considered the best island by far.
I must say, this place is truly unique. Despite being a boutique establishment, it is surprisingly spacious and has a charming rustic and eco-friendly vibe. The rooms are absolutely stunning, although you should be cautious of the slippery marble flooring when it's wet. The bathroom is beautiful, with a separate shower and toilet. The restaurant is exceptional, offering a great concept with dishes sourced from the meadow, stream, and garden on-site. The pool outside is a lovely addition, and the sunrises here are breathtaking. The sounds of nature are abundant, making it a true haven. It's the perfect destination for honeymooners or couples looking for a getaway. Additionally, there is a library available for guests to enjoy. While it may not be located right next to the main town, it's just a short drive away from the stunning local Lagoon and beautiful beaches.
It was absolutely incredible. We chose this beach for our honeymoon and it exceeded all of our expectations. The scenery is absolutely stunning, the decor and accommodations are incredibly elegant, and the staff is exceptionally friendly. The atmosphere is so relaxing and enjoyable. We would like to extend our warmest regards to Adelaida, our gracious host, the talented room maker, and the attentive waiter with glasses in the restaurant. They truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect.
A beautiful island getaway where you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The staff is amazing - they greet you warmly and are always willing to help. The food is top-notch - there's a wide variety of options for every meal, made with fresh ingredients and catering to different tastes. It's never too loud here, offering a peaceful and serene atmosphere. We have absolutely no complaints about this fantastic little island.
I just got back from the Maldives and I couldn't be happier! This place lived up to its website description, which is a first for us. The island is beautiful, although it's on the smaller side, and the house reef is amazing for snorkeling. We saw sharks, colorful fish, sea turtles, and stingrays just a few meters away from our water villa. The food is absolutely fantastic! The kitchen team, led by an Alcasien chef, prepares delicious dishes of the highest quality three times a day. It's honestly the best buffet food we've ever had. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome and comfortable throughout your stay. The facilities, including the pool, gym, bars, and restaurant, are great. The villas are nice too, although you can tell they've been used by many tourists over the years (although it's not really noticeable that they're 16 years old). We really enjoyed our stay there! Rumor has it that a major renovation is planned for 2023/2024. If they execute it as well as they currently run the resort, it will definitely become the best resort in the Maldives!
