Lebanon boasts of only one public beach that is truly remarkable. Despite the presence of litter, which is a common sight throughout the country, this beach is still worth a visit as it is relatively cleaner than other public beaches. However, as a Muslim woman, I couldn't help but feel a bit uncomfortable due to the constant stares I received. Perhaps, the locals are not accustomed to seeing Muslim women at the beach.
What a delightful and reasonably priced destination! The best part is that there is no admission fee, only a rental fee for a longchair and umbrella, each of which costs 50,000 L.L. There is also a car park outside available for 20,000 L.L. Upon entering, the sea is incredibly pristine, although the small rocks on the beach are not the most pleasant. However, once you cross them, you will find yourself surrounded by soft sand that is very comfortable to walk on. Unfortunately, the waves can be quite troublesome, and swimming is not easy in September. At the entrance, there is a small private restaurant with immaculate restrooms that are available to everyone. Additionally, on the right side, there are four small faucets on a wooden deck where you can wash your feet, and a wooden bench is available for your convenience. Families and couples frequent the area, making it a safe place for girls to visit. In the afternoon, many gentlemen arrive, but they tend to sit on the other side of the beach.
The beach is a stunning spot with a picturesque shoreline and velvety sand. However, it would be ideal if the local government could take more measures to maintain its cleanliness. Enforcing more stringent regulations against littering and ensuring that the water and sand are regularly cleaned would go a long way in preserving the beauty of this public beach. It's important to remember that public access doesn't equate to a license to pollute. Therefore, it's crucial to establish strict guidelines for visitors to follow.
This seaside haven in Lebanon boasts one of the most exquisite sandy beaches around. It comes highly recommended for those seeking a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The public beach near Byblos city is stunning! The sand and sea are both lovely, and on good days, the waves are powerful and perfect for surfing and bodyboarding. It can get quite busy on weekends during the summer, but it's still a great place to relax and enjoy a meal with plenty of bars and restaurants along the seaside. 🇱🇧♥️🌅
