Pongpyeong Beach is located on the Sea of Japan (East Sea) and it is in the 21th place out of 30 beaches in the North Gyeongsang region 68.2 km away from its center, the city of Yeongdeok-eup. It is one of the beaches of Bongpyeong-ri settlement, just 0.3 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area.

It is a spacious coastline with crystal blue water and bright sand, so it is recommended to wear special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season. There is a campsite located nearby.

Pongpyeong Beach coast is free for all. This beach has the following amenities, beach restaurant, changing rooms, showers, toilets. There is also possible to take different water activities such as catamarans or jet skis. This area has also a water park in the sea with various inflatable toys which constitute excellent activities for parents and children.
