A place where one can soak up the sun, feel the sand between their toes, and take a refreshing dip in the water... or so one would hope. This particular beach, while nice enough, does have a bit of a downside - the water is a tad on the murky side. And don't even get me started on the canine population. It seems that our furry friends are quite welcome here, which may or may not be a selling point depending on your perspective. On the plus side, there are plenty of places to grab a cool drink, and the shower facilities are top-notch. All in all, a solid choice for a day of seaside relaxation.
I had the pleasure of visiting this beach on a beautiful afternoon in September 2022. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the top-notch amenities and the attentive lifeguard service. As I ventured into the water, I swam along the buoy line of the designated swimming area, taking in the serene atmosphere of the beach. Although there weren't any floating platforms, the calm waters made for a relaxing and enjoyable swim. Overall, this beach provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful day by the sea.
LCSD Public Beach is just a brief and enjoyable 10-minute stroll away from the Mui Wo ferry terminal. Once the Covid limitations are lifted and the amenities are available, this beach will be a fantastic destination with high-quality changing rooms, refreshing showers, and clean restrooms.
Nestled in a picturesque spot, this beach boasts a serene atmosphere and breathtaking views of the ocean. Despite its allure, the sand can be a bit rough on the feet, making it less than ideal for barefoot strolls. Additionally, the water may not meet your expectations, particularly if you're hoping for crystal-clear conditions. It's worth noting that the beach tends to be less crowded, so you can enjoy a more peaceful experience.
Silvermine Bay Beach may be classified as a beach, but it's far from a run-of-the-mill sandy shore. In contrast to the humdrum beach facilities typically found in Hong Kong, this beach offers a range of intriguing sights. Stroll along the path that spans the entire beach, and you'll encounter a cluster of charming little houses that are rarely seen in the city. Some exude an old-world charm, while others are positively glamorous, and a few blend seamlessly into the natural environment. With the stunning vista of the sea and the soft sand beneath your feet, it's easy to lose track of time as you bask in the laid-back ambiance. Silvermine Bay Beach is anything but ordinary, and it's a must-visit for those seeking a unique beach experience.
