I'm really confused about what's going on in Kythira - I don't understand why most of the beaches are closed at the beginning of September. They keep complaining about not having any customers, but with this kind of management, they won't be getting any! I've been coming to Greece for 26 years and I've never experienced going somewhere where most of the places are closed. I went through a lot of effort to get to this beach on a difficult road, only to find out upon arrival that everything was closed - no canteen, no deckchair, no umbrella, no toilet... There were only a few signs in Greek, and the locations on Google Maps were incorrect. Do the inhabitants of Kythira only cater to Greek tourists? If they don't want our money, they can just tell us and we won't come back. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
The tranquil and serene beach was well-maintained with convenient arrangements of sunbeds and umbrellas available at a nominal cost of 12 euros each. However, the path leading to the beach was not very pleasant due to the unpaved route. In my opinion, there are other beaches on the island that offer easier access and better overall experience.
The finest spot on Kithyra island, hands down. A cozy beach with a mere sprinkling of pebbles and hardly any amenities to speak of. But hold on to your hats, because the proprietors of the snack bar are simply phenomenal. They'll knock your socks off with a scrumptious souvlaki, a frosty brew, and some delightful conversation. Hats off to you, chaps, for transforming that spot into a paradise.
The beach is fantastic - it's small, clean, and the owners of the cantina are incredibly friendly. The food they serve is the best beach food we've ever had, even better than most sit-down restaurants. The grilled sticks are perfectly seasoned, the fries are homemade, and the Greek salad is dressed with delicious local olive oil. And of course, they have Czech beer on the menu, which is a must-try. Don't forget to check out the new hike trail from Karavas Bakery down to the beach!
I had a unique experience at the beach, as it was mostly deserted with no beach bar and very rough waves. Despite this, I found the beach to be absolutely stunning and a must-visit spot on the island.
