Afrata Beach is located on the Sea of Crete (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 242th place out of 478 beaches in the Crete region 173.7 km away from its center, the city of Kastelli. It is one of the beaches of Afrata settlement, just 1.1 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place, among the mountains.

It is a tiny bay with crystal turquoise water and light pebble, so it is recommended to wear special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

What a delightful location! Not only frequented by tourists, but also by the locals. The crystal-clear waters are a sight to behold. The atmosphere is very relaxed and easy-going. As the sun sets, a large tree provides a lovely shade. There is a charming little bar that offers refreshing drinks and authentic local cuisine. The children had a blast jumping off the rocks into the refreshing water.

Ah, yes, the beautiful beach with its free sun beds and umbrellas. Don't be fooled by the allure of this seemingly perfect paradise. Sure, you can lounge on a sun bed and soak up the sun's rays, but only if you're willing to wake up at the crack of dawn and claim your spot before the vultures swoop in and steal them all. And let's not forget about the crowds. Everyone and their mother seems to flock to this beach, turning it into a chaotic mess of sunscreen and sand. Good luck finding a peaceful spot to relax and unwind. But hey, at least it's free, right? Just be prepared to sacrifice your sanity and serenity for a few hours of mediocre beach time.
