Ammoudi beach is located on the Aegean Sea (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 778th place out of 1022 beaches in the South Aegean region 116 km away from its center, the city of Ermoupoli. It is one of the beaches of Oia settlement, just 0.6 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place, among the mountains, surrounded by the cliffs.

It is a short straight coastline with crystal turquoise water and rocks cover, so it is highly recommended to wear special shoes. The entrance to the water is quite sharp. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

Ammoudi beach coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature. .

In addition to swimming and sunbathing, you can also take part in other activities.

Not everyone can get to this beach. To reach it, you have to follow a dangerous mountain path, not recommended for children and elderly people. Parking is located at some distance, within 300 meters.

During our day trip to Oia, we decided to check out this beach. It was a fantastic spot to explore, but be warned, there are some dangerous areas. The descent to the beach was enjoyable, but the ascent up the stairs was quite steep. Don't forget to bring plenty of water! We strolled along the cliffs and found a small cove where people were swimming and diving off a cliff. However, please be cautious as there are some hazardous spots. Additionally, there are several excellent dining options in the vicinity.

The path to the beach is quite challenging and requires appropriate footwear. I suggest wearing sports shoes instead of flip-flops. The incline is manageable on the way down, but it can be quite strenuous on the way back up. You'll need either a vehicle or a lot of endurance. The scenery is stunning and definitely worth the trek, but I wouldn't recommend swimming or taking a dip.

There is a somewhat challenging trail that leads to a secluded swimming area around the cliff. The spot is located approximately 10 minutes away from the restaurants at the bay and offers a serene atmosphere. Additionally, you can take a swim to a nearby island that houses a church and a diving platform.
